This course will cover the requirements of the REIP as it pertains to Wind technologies and the application process. Sizing of Wind turbines will be covered along how many Kilowatt hours of electricity they will generate annually. A financial model for a small wind (less than 50 KW) application will be reviewed along with the Pay back period and Return on Investment will be determined. The technology of how a wind turbine works to generate electricity will be covered along with the different types of turbines for their specific applications. An actual anemometer and wind direction systems will be presented during the course and explained in full detail how a system of this type could be installed with the data collection to conduct a wind feasibility study.
